About 17Tracking

17Tracking is an independent, free shipment tracking service. One search box, every carrier — no account, no paywall, no noise.

In short: we are not a carrier and we are not affiliated with any carrier. We read publicly available tracking data from logistics providers and present it in one clear timeline.

What we do

Online shopping spread parcels across dozens of logistics providers. A single order can start with Cainiao in China, continue with YunExpress, and finish with USPS in the United States — which usually means three different websites and three different tracking numbers.

17Tracking removes that friction. You paste one tracking number, we work out which carrier issued it, query the right source and show every scan event in chronological order. The service is free and works without registration.

Why we query more than one data source

No single tracking provider covers every carrier. Postal services, couriers, cross-border e-commerce lines and freight forwarders each maintain their own systems, and coverage overlaps only partially.

Rather than pretend otherwise, 17Tracking queries two independent data sources. Our default source handles most postal and courier shipments worldwide; the second adds sea, air and truck freight as well as a number of regional carriers. If one returns nothing, you can switch to the other in a single click — a number that looks dead in one source very often resolves in the other.

How your data is handled

  • Tracking numbers are not stored on our servers. They are passed to the data source to retrieve the shipment status, and are not written to our own database.
  • Your “Recently tracked” list stays in your browser. It is saved in your device’s local storage so you can re-check a parcel later, and it never leaves your device. Clear it at any time with one click.
  • Anonymous statistics only. Like most websites we use aggregate analytics to understand which pages are useful. See our Privacy Policy for the full detail, including advertising and cookies.

What we are not

  • We are not a carrier, a marketplace or a shipping broker — we cannot change a delivery.
  • We do not create tracking data. If a carrier has not scanned a parcel yet, there is nothing for us to show.
  • We do not sell, insure or reroute shipments, and we cannot contact a driver on your behalf.

Coverage

We track shipments from more than 1,000 carriers in over 220 countries and territories, including national postal services, express couriers and cross-border e-commerce logistics lines. See the carrier directory for the most commonly tracked providers, or read the tracking status guide if you want to understand what each scan event means.
